Settled Decisions

The good news about having a 7 month engagement (short by world standards, long by LDS standards) is that I've changed my mind a million times about lots of things, but these are the things I'm settled on:

Bridesmaids: light, rosy pink

Groomsmen: tan suits, pink ties

Flowergirls: gold dresses

Location: San Diego Temple followed by a reception/luncheon at an Italian Restaurant in La Jolla (beach pictures, what what!)

Date: June 15 (timing is TBD since the temple can't be booked more than 6 months out, but likely around 11)

STILL NEEDS TO BE DECIDED:

Flowergirl dresses

Dates for the condo (likely, we can provide family with rooms from June 13-16 for free thanks to grandpa's generosity), so if you want to be in California for longer, you'd have to find your own rooms. All other guests can rent at the same resort for $250 a night if booked through my grandpa's membership which sleeps 8 people (2 bedrooms + living room + full kitchen)

Honeymoon (choices: Sandals Resort in Caribbean (Jamaica, maybe?), Mexican cruise, or Mexican all-inclusive resort)

Advice from anyone out there?

It's Settled

We're going to get married in San Diego!!! We really discussed what was important to us with our wedding. We want the people we love the most there and we want it to be FUN. Too many weddings in Utah don't have the budget to make them all that fun so they end up being suuuuuper lame. We set a budget for ourselves that would allow us to have a dream wedding but wouldn't spend ALL of our money at the same time. But that budget wouldn't have allowed us to do anything all that fun in Utah.

So, we're going to get married at the San Diego temple. We figured that only the people who love us the most would take the time and energy to make the trek, so that way we can make the party afterwards fun and intimate!

Sorry for all of the bouncing back at forth between locations, everyone. We feel really good about San Diego though. It gives us the intimate, simple, fun feel without breaking the piggy pank for all of our loved ones.

EEK! Is it June yet?

Color Scheme Option Two

Bridesmaids: Pink dresses, gold shoes, gold necklace, pink flowers
Groomsmen: Tan suits, pink ties

Cons: Tan suits aren't available so they'd have to be bought or rented & pink flowers with pink dresses doesn't stand out as well
Pros: the tan suits look really cool and so do the pink dresses

Color Scheme Option One

Bridesmaids: Gold dress, pink shoes, pink flowers, pink necklace
Groomsmen: Black Suit, Gold Ties (Kawai would have pink or vice versa)

Pros: Pink flowers stand out better and all boys already have a black suit
